Ballot Statement
I have always been proud to call Santa Clara home. Proud of our people, parks, libraries, sports, businesses, low-cost utilities, and efficient and effective city government. Proud of our friendly, welcoming, small-town feel. Proud of how Santa Clara got things done.
Sadly, being proud of Santa Clara now is challenging. Residents feel Santa Clara’s reputation is tarnished, with city governance ineffective. I ask for your vote for positive change. I achieved results for Santa Clara on our City Council and School Board, leading ethically. I will advocate for you without arguing, wasting time, insulting residents, or intimidating staff. I listen to all viewpoints to find workable solutions and explain my decisions. I emphasize meeting more with residents than special interests. Public contracts will be public, not hidden. I will encourage business investment to make Santa Clara stronger. Let’s focus more on solutions to fund needed services.
Let’s all be proud of Santa Clara again. As your councilmember, we will start an era where the City Council centers on your quality of life. I am proud of my record where we planned for the future, listened to residents, fixed roads, built new parks, and welcomed tax-paying businesses. Let’s do it again.
Please vote Teresa O’Neill for Santa Clara. www.teresaoneill.org
