Your input is important
There are many ways for residents to learn about and influence decisions made by City leaders. The City Council can often make better decisions when its members see all sides of an issue. Resident input is a critical part of the decision making process.
01
Vote and join committees
In addition to registering to vote, and voting, one of the keys to making your voice heard is knowing when items of interest to you will be considered by the City Council or by various committees and commissions appointed by the Council. You can sign up to be notifed by email of CIty Council meeting agendas or notified of a personally customized subset of other types of news items. Check here for a calendar of upcoming events.
02
Meet with Teresa
You can send a message to Teresa, either to share questions and comments on specific issues or to ask to be notifed of her periodic informal meetings with the commmunity. These meetings are intended to encourage friendly but spirited discussions about whatever questions or concerns the participants have on any given day, without many of the time or agenda constraints that often limit discussion in more official meetings.

There are also a number of committees and commissions that serve in an advisory role to the City Council. Residents are encouraged to apply to serve on these.
If you’d prefer to stay away from politics but want to help in some other way, there are many volunteer opportunities to consider.
